The Kutchh area of Gujarat's Patri and neighbouring villages' cattle farmers produce 20,000 litres of milk each day, earning a staggering 700,000. It adds to the national grid of millions of litres sold across the nation after being transported and chilled.
The White Revolution, which started in a dilapidated creamery in Anand's Kaira (now Kheda) area in 1949, is only a microcosm of prosperous Patri. 

The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which was founded in 1950, is the biggest milk cooperative in the world today. It made a revenue of Rs 39,248 crore in 2020–21 from selling milk and dairy products under the "Amul" brand. It ranks ninth among the top 20 dairy processors in the world according to the International Farm Comparison Network (IFCN).
